Because of Twitter’s recent restrictions, the “open tweet” function in the database will be blocked on twitter’s end. The function can still be called on a mobile device with Twitter app installed.

Brief

Feb 24th 2022, 3:40am Kyiv time, the first battle between Russia and Ukraine broke out. As the world was shook by the invasion, over 30 in-person protests stormed the strees in cities around the world. The topic #freeukraine trended on the internet, along with pictures and videos of these protests.

This database aims to capture all the in-person protests posted under the tag #freeukraine, along with the parsed time, location and tweet text.
